A genomic BAC (#CH322-25015) comprising 19,384 bp genomic DNA (from 4,631,615 to 4,650,999 on chromosome 3), roughly centered on aqz and encompassing the whole aqzlocus, but also including four other neighboring genes (IscU, CG8369, CG9837, and hng2) and lncRNA:CR43130, that partially overlaps the aqz sequence in the opposite orientation.
aqz+tCH322-25015 homozygous embryos show prevalent central nervous system defects, as compared to controls.
aqz+tCH322-25015 partially rescues aqz1
aqz+tCH322-25015 partially rescues aqzCB03335
The embryonic central nervous system defects observed in aqzCB03335 and aqz1 homozygotes are partially rescued by one copy of aqz+tCH322-25015; the lethality of aqzCB03335 is rescued by one copy of aqz+tCH322-25015, but exacerbated by two copies of aqz+tCH322-25015, whereas the lethality of aqz1 is exacerbated by either one or two copies of aqz+tCH322-25015.
