An insertion in the first intron/first exon of aqz (depending on the splice variant).
Insertion within an exon.
aqzCB03335 homozygous embryos show prevalent central and peripheral nervous system defects, cuticle defects (e.g. cuticle holes), and patterning defects (e.g. in head involution), as compared to controls; the apical cell domains are decreased (i.e. reduced Crumbs staining), the basolateral domains are expanded (i.e. Discs large staining is increased) and the adherens junctions are affected (reduced and patchy DE-cadherin staining), as compared to controls.
aqzCB03335 is partially rescued by aqz+tCH322-25015
The embryonic central nervous system defects and lethality of aqzCB03335 homozygotes are partially rescued by one copy of aqz+tCH322-25015, leading to fertile adult males, but sterile adult females; the lethality of aqzCB03335 homozygotes, however, is exacerbated by two copies of aqz+tCH322-25015.
