    tncEY03355 homozygotes do not show any no obvious CNS defects during late embryogenesis.

    The few adult tncEY03355/Df(3R)BSC655 transheterozygous escapers do not fly and show a severe impairment in adult climbing ability. Their larval neuromuscular junctions are largely normal but show a small but significant increase in synaptic bouton number, as compared to controls. Neurotransmission across tncEY03355 hemizygous muscle 6 neuromuscular junctions displays significant decreases in EJP amplitude, in mEJP frequency but not amplitude, and in quantal content, as well as a significant increase in paired-pulse ratio, but no change in resting potential and input resistance, as compared to controls.

    Neurotransmission across tncEY03355/Df(3R)BSC655 muscle 6 neuromuscular junctions displays significant decreases in EJP amplitude, in mEJP frequency but not amplitude, and in quantal content, as well as a significant increase in paired-pulse ratio, but no change in resting potential and input resistance, as compared to controls; no detachment of the muscle fibers or defects in costamere organization.

    tncEY03355 hemizygous larval neuromuscular junctions show significantly smaller and irregularly-shaped synaptic boutons, frequent poorly defined bouton/interbouton boundaries, and a sparse subsynaptic reticulum with reduced density of the membrane layers, but apparently normal synapses (despite residing in relatively distorted boutons) and no obvious microtubule defects;

    The expression of tncUAS.cWa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B enhances the partial lethality and the larval neuromuscular junction defects ('poorly defined boutons, with almost tubular NMJ branches') observed in tncEY03355 hemizygotes.
