The expression of DiedeldsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA leads to adult midgut defects, namely enterocyte detachment from the basement membrane and increased apoptosis.
The adult midgut of individuals expressing DiedeldsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ppl.PP or Scer\GAL4Cg.PA, but not Scer\GAL4Act88F.1.3, shows a significantly higher age-dependent increase in mitosis than controls. The Scer\GAL4Cg.PA-driven expression also leads to the midgut showing significantly higher apoptosis in 20-days old adults, but not 10- and 40-days old, adults than in controls. The Scer\GAL4ppl.PP-driven expression leads to a significant increase in apoptosis in the midgut of 30-days old adults, as compared to controls.
Adulthood-only expression under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.Switch.PK and RU486 feeding leads to a RU486 concentration-dependent decrease in lifespan.
