Description

GFP is inserted within exon 3 of sdt (amino acid 188 of sdt-PB), along with two FRT sites inserted into the introns flanking exon 3. GFP thus tags all six neur binding motif-containing (NBM) sdt isoforms as well as three isoforms that contain only part of exon 3, excluding the NBM.

Stage 9/10 sdtGFP3 embryos do not show any obvious defects in epithelial integrity or apical-basal cell polarity (assessed by the localization of aPKC and Nrt proteins). In mutant eye discs, ommatidia form the expected six-cell rosettes.
