Description

Amino acid replacement R571L in CG3376. This change is designed to mimic the R498L change found in human SMPD1 in patients with Niemann-Pick disease. The R571L change was inserted along with Disc\RFP3xP3.cUa marker flanked by PBac ends that was then removed via PBac transposition. Transposition left behind a TTAA which changes CTGAAC to CTTAAC in the coding region but doesn't change the amino acid sequence.

R571L

Comment:

Analogous R498L mutation in human SMPD1 implicated in Niemann-Pick disease; site of nucleotide substitution in fly gene inferred by FlyBase curator based on reported amino acid change. The R571L change was inserted along with Disc\RFP3xP3.cUa marker flanked by PBac ends that was then removed via PBac transposition. Transposition left behind a TTAA which changes CTGAAC to CTTAAC in the coding region but doesn't change the amino acid sequence.
