Optogenetic activation (using Cnoc\ChR1^{Cs.20xUAS.FRT.Venus} with 627 nm (red) light) of Scer\GAL4^{Hr38-02306-G4} neurons expressing Scer\FLP1^fru or Scer\FLP1^dsx-KI.FLPG5, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the 24 hours prior to testing, significantly increases abdominal bending (a copulation posture) in males that have been previously exposed to a female, but not to a male, compared to controls; activation of the Scer\FLP1^fru subset, but not the Scer\FLP1^dsx-KI.FLPG5 subset, also slightly, but significantly, increases wing extension (a courtship behavior), compared to controls, under these conditions.
