      Expressing mbtK397M.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev in an mbtP1/mbtP1 background leads to the formation of a significant proportion of elongated CadN-immunopositive adherens junctions between photoreceptor precursor cells R3 and R4 in row 5 ommatidia of wandering third instar larvae.

      Expressing mbtK397M.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev partially rescues the shortened adherens junction phenotype between photoreceptor precursor cells R3 and R4 in row 5 ommatidia of mbtP1/mbtP1 wandering third instar larvae. Adherens junctions have variable lengths from slightly shorter to wild-type to lengthened.
