      The nephrocytes of pydex147 homozygous stage 16 embryos are abnormally agglutinated, with electron-dense regions at membranes contact sites, thickening of the basement membrane, and complete absence of slit diaphragms. Adults do not show defects in dorsal bristle numbers.
