Deletion within hzg; results in the expressed protein containing only the N-terminal 169 amino acid residues of the wild-type protein.
Progeny from either hzgN169 homozygous males and females, hzgC91 homozygous females and wild-type males, or hzgC91 homozygous males and wild-type females are viable. hzgN169 homozygous females show no obvious ovary phenotypes. The progeny from hzgN169 homozygous males and females develop normally without any detectible phenotype.
