Deletion of 1,906 bp encompassing the annotated Bbd transcriptional unit.
The CRISPR deletion was engineered to remove the region from 2R:20534248..20536154 .
BbdΔ homozygous adults are not morphologically different than controls.
BbdΔ homozygous adults exhibit increased mortality as a result of Candida glabrata, Fusarium oxysporum, Enterococcus faecalis (alive or heat killed) or heat-killed Micrococcus luteus but not Enterobacter cloacae infection when compared to controls.
The pathogen loads of early deaths for BbdΔ homozygous adults are not significantly different than controls. The pathogen load of late BbdΔ homozygous fly deaths is significantly lower than that of the early-death BbdΔ homozygotes and controls, and also significantly higher than that of live controls 120 hours post infection.
BbdΔ has abnormal immune response | adult stage phenotype, suppressible by Myd88kra-1
BbdΔ has abnormal immune response | adult stage phenotype, suppressible by Df(2R)BomΔ55C
BbdΔ has increased mortality | adult stage phenotype, suppressible by Myd88kra-1
BbdΔ has increased mortality | adult stage phenotype, suppressible by Df(2R)BomΔ55C
Myd88kra-1 or Df(2R)BomΔ55C suppresses the increased mortality phenotype of BbdΔ homozygous adults infected with either heat-killed Enterococcus faecalis or heat-killed Micrococcus luteus.
