In an otherwise control background, constitutive expression of snoRNA:Ψ28S-1153UAS.cSa under the control of either Scer\GAL4NP0001 or Scer\GAL4mex1.2.1 induces an increase in female lifespan, as compared to controls. Adulthood-only expression under the control of Scer\GAL4mex1.GS (induced by feeding with RU486) also induces an increase in female lifespan, as well as an increase in female gut ploidy/endoreplication, as compared to controls.

Constitutive expression of snoRNA:Ψ28S-1153UAS.cSa under the control of either Scer\GAL4NP0001 or Scer\GAL4mex1.2.1 rescues both the decreased lifespan and the increased numbers of enterocytes in the gut (in both 7 days old and40 days old individuals) exhibited by Df(2R)F4 homozygous females. Adulthood-only expression under the control of Scer\GAL4mex1.GS (induced by feeding with RU486) also rescues lifespan. Constitutive expression under the control of Scer\GAL4mex1.2.1 also rescues the decreased gut ploidy/endoreplication of Df(2R)F4 homozygous females. Constitutive expression under the control of Scer\GAL4NP0001 also rescues the decreased resistance to desiccation of Df(2R)F4 homozygous females.
