      Adulthood-only expression of hokadsRNA.L.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4NP0001 leads to midgut defects: progressive barrier defects (in Smurf assays), increased number and increased proliferation of intestinal stem cells; increased diameter of posterior part of the midgut; enterocytes accumulate in the midgut lumen; enterocytes exhibit a variety of aberrant appearances, implying a polarity defect.

      Adulthood-only expression under the control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU results in an increased mitotic index in the adult midgut and enterocyte accumulation in the midgut lumen.
