Adulthood-only, targeted CRISPR/Cas9-mediated knock-out of CapaR, by expressing CapaR^{UAS.gRNAx4.pCFD6} and Spyo\Cas9^UAS.P2 under the control of Scer\GAL4^how-24B (together with Gal80[ts] for the temporal control of expression), leads to a progressive decreased in locomotion, as evidenced by the significant reductions in both morning and evening activity peaks; Upon rescue by the co-expression of CapaR^UAS.cKa, locomotion ability is increased compared to controls.
