A complex aberrant locus that disrupts 11 amino acid residues of the mature N-terminal Drosocin peptide, resulting in a truncated Drosocin peptide lacking its critical O-glycosylated Threonine. However, the deletion later continues in the same reading frame to include the RVRR furin cleavage site and C-terminus of the precursor protein, resulting in normal expression and secretion of the C-terminal ('Buletin') peptide.
ACTCTGTGG
The deleted region is replaced with ACTCTGTGG. The net result is the deletion and substitution of 12 residues with 4 novel amino acids (HSVA) and then the reading frame resumes again.
