Reported as a 6bp deletion of two codons (MP) corresponding to residues 12 and 13 of the RJ, RN, RT and RU transcripts of Doa. Codons MP are actually residues 11 and 12 and that is where the deletion has been mapped.
Homozygotes show reduced viability and fertility. Progeny of homozygous females have frequent embryonic cuticular defects, which are not rescued by being fertilized by wild type males.
