sev enhancer and promoter sequences drive expression of Ras85D carrying two mutations: a G12V amino acid replacement and deletion of the C-terminal CAAX box. The coding sequence is tagged at the N-terminal end with Tag:Myr(Src64B) (which contains a myristoylation signal).

Rough eye phenotype similar to Ras85DV12.sev.

Severe roughening of the eye external surface, section through an eye reveals multi R7 cells per ommatidium. Injection of a Ras CAAX peptidomimetic, FTI-254, does not rescue the mutant eye phenotype but slightly reduces the average number of R7 cells per ommatidium.

Same phenoytpe as Ras85DV12.sev : extra R7 cells and rough eyes.
