Description

The BLOC (biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex) complexes are required for the biogenesis of specialized organelles of the endosomal-lysosomal system. In mammalian cells, BLOC-2 localizes to early endosomes and facilitates protein trafficking to melanosomes in melanocytes. In D.mel, BLOC-2 has been shown to be involved in eye pigmentation.
