Description
Description
Group II Heat Shock Protein 60 chaperonins are paralogous subunits that assemble to form a multi-subunit ring complex, the TCP-1 Ring Complex (TRiC) or Chaperonin Containing TCP-1 (CCT) complex. Within the cytoplasm, TRiC/CCT catalyses the ATP-dependent folding of approximately 10% of of newly synthesized proteins. (Adapted from FBrf0210519, FBrf0232269 and PMID:11580267).
