Description
Description
M100 metalloendopeptidases belong to MEROPS family M100. The founding member is human SPARTAN, a conserved DNA-dependent metalloprotease essential for resolving DNA-protein cross-links, which thus plays a key role in maintaining genomic integrity. (Adapted from PMID: 28615282.)
Notes on Group

The single member of the M100 METALLOENDOPEPTIDASES gene group, mh, is classed as a inactive non-peptidase homolog by MEROPS, but FBrf0226393 and FBrf0236260 suggest that mh encodes an active peptidase.
