Description
Description
P-type ATPases are primary active transmembrane transporters that transport charged substrates like ions and phospholipids against a concentration gradient. P-type ATPases use ATP to auto-phosphorylate during the catalytic cycle at an invariant aspartate residue, resulting in conversion between "inward-facing" and "outward-facing" conformations that facilitate substrate transport.
