The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

View Dmel\BobB in JBrowsePlease Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Overexpression of Bob results in both bristle tufting and balding phenotypes.
"BobB" may correspond to "CG13465" or "CG12487".
In FBrf0123097, 3 tandemly arranged loci, which encode nearly identical "Bob" proteins have been detected in genomic clones of the 71A1-71A2 region. These loci are "BobA", "BobB" and "BobC". In the sequenced D.melanogaster genome, only two copies of "Bob" genes are present in the corresponding genomic region. These two genes are represented by the annotations "CG12487" and "CG13465". The annotation "CG12487" corresponds to "BobA". It is not possible to tell whether the "CG13465 annotation corresponds to "BobB" or "BobC".
