Hers, Su(var)3-9 and Su(var)205 proteins cosediment in a single fraction as a complex with a molecular mass of about 250 kDa, consistent with the sum of the molecular mass of these three factors.

Hers protein was immunoprecipitated from nuclear extracts of cells treated with MG132 protease inhibitor, then fractionated on a glycerol density gradient.
