Subject: variegation of y+ in P{Car20y}EW1
Information communicated:
The y+t7.7 allele carried by P{Car20y} is subject to variegation in the P{Car20y}EW1 insertion into CyO (CyO-vWb). 
Expression of the y+ minigene is good in larvae, allowing straightforward selection of the balancer in an otherwise y- 
background. In adults, however, essentially all show some degree of variegation.
