We recently received a set of stocks from Rod Nagoshi that had been generated in Dawson Mohler's lab. Among the stocks were two alleles of fs(2)A12 that were described in Bakken, Developmental Biology 33: 100-122, 1973. The stocks are: 4571 fs(2)A126-396/SM1 4572 fs(2)A128-1062/SM1 I took a look at the ovaries of homozygotes and 6-396/8-1062 females and they have a classic dumpless phenotype. My complementation tests indicate that fs(2)A12 is the same as quail. fs(2)A128-1062 failed to complement qua1 and Df(2L)TW137 (Df for quail and kelch), but complemented Df(2L)M36F-S5 (Df for kelch) and Df(2L)GpdhA (Df for chickadee). Consequently, could you do your curatorial magic on the fs(2)A12 (FBgn0000942) and quail (FBgn0003187) entries? What do you want to name the new alleles? qua6-396 and qua8-1062? Best regards, Kevin
