I'm a postdoc in John Carlson's lab, and in collaboration with Leslie
Vosshall I have renamed all the Drosophila odorant receptor genes we know
about according to an agreed upon nomenclature. A table of the 60 genes we
know about is attached, showing previous names and the new names. 54 of the
genes are annotated, 6 are not and Leslie is contacting Flybase about
getting these annotated as she is publishing them in a paper.
So all people we know about working on these genes have agreed to this
scheme, and would like the Flybase/Gadfly records to use the new names as
the primary name of the genes.
