Dear Rachel,
Please consider the attachment a personal communication for now. We have
submitted a manuscript and well let you know when it is in press. Please
let me know if there is any other information you require.

Gene: gam
Symbol: gam
Full name: gammy legs
D. melanogaster gene gammy legs, abbreviated as gam, is reported here.
It encodes a PHD- finger protein, which is localized to the nucleus.
It is ubiquitously expressed at low levels in the embryo and imaginal
discs. Similar sequences have been identified in Homo sapiens. It has
been sequenced and its amino acid sequence is also avaliable. It has
been mapped cytologically to 100C7--D. It interacts genetically with
arm, dsh and axin, and acts genetically as a positive regulator of
Wingless signaling. Null mutations have been isolated that affect the
epidermis, denticle belts, antenna, legs and wings and are recessive
viable. There is one recorded mutant allele, but it is not available
from the public stock centers. gammy legs is discussed in 5 references,
dated between 1999 and 2001. These include at least 2 molecular
studies.
