Df(3L)BSC15 was isolated as an unexpected deletion event in the same screen that produced Df(3L)BSC10. Df(3L)BSC15 was recovered as a rhove-1-e1 recombinant chromosome from the cross rhove-1 pp e1 females x CyO, H{PDelta2-3}HoP2.1/+; rhove-1 P{lacW}mirrcre2/P{lacW}RpS12s2783 e1 males. Df(3L)BSC15 does not delete the chromosomal region in 69DF between the P insertions; instead, it has the breakpoints 70A6-7;70B6-7. It failed to complement the recessive lethality of l(3)0054300543 and l(3)L5212L5212, but complemented Df(3L)Ly, Lysens-E58, T(Y;3)A31 and T(Y;3)R83 for lethality and v(3)0369903699 for wing vein defects.
