Subject: Helping FlyBase: ADRC-50558 Dear Ryan, We are currently curating the abstracts for the upcoming 46th (San Diego) Annual Drosophila Research Conference, for FlyBase. I am writing in connection with your abstract: Regulation of Autophagy by TOR Signaling in Drosophila. You mention two gene symbols that are new to FlyBase, atg1 and atg5. Do you know which of the Genome Project CG annotations your genes correspond to? All the CGs have corresponding gene records in FlyBase already and we don't like to make duplicate records for what is actually the same gene unless we can't avoid it. The CG symbols become synonyms when an annotation is named with a more descriptive or functional name. With best wishes, Rachel. Subject: Re: Helping FlyBase: ADRC-50558 Rachel- ATG1 is CG10967 ATG5 is CG1643 Both were named based on sequence homology to yeast genes, and are published in: Scott et al. . 2004. Role and Regulation of Starvation-Induced Autophagy in the Drosophila Fat Body. Dev. Cell, 7 (2): 167-178. Also published in that paper are: ATG2 is CG1241 ATG8a is CG32672 ATG8b is CG12334 ATG18 is CG7986 I hope this helps. \-Ryan
