 comments: Flybase lists allele numbers for the pan gu gene (png) that do not exist.  To my knowledge there are no png1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 48 alleles.  The allele numbers are: 3318, 2786, 246, 1920, 172, 171a, 50, 158, and 1058.  All of these alleles are EMS induced, have been sequenced, and the amino acid changes are reported in Fenger et al. Development 127, 4763 (2000).  The allele reported as png1 in Flybase is actually png158.  Please let me know if you require additional information.
