Insertion lines from this collection were assessed for inclusion in the Gene Disruption Project collection.
The insertion site was mapped to a ClaI-ClaI restriction fragment, downstream of the transcription start and roughly 200bp upstream of the U2af38 translation start
In wandering third instar, weak β-gal expression in larval brain, imaginal discs and gonad. (Not specified which imaginal discs.)

The insertion site maps to a ClaI-ClaI restriction fragment, downstream of the transcription start and roughly 200bp upstream of the U2af38 translation start; position of restriction fragment on reference sequence inferred by FlyBase curator
This insertion was listed in the BDGP database as a lethal or sterile line during the period 1994-1999, but was not verified as such prior to the summary publication (FBrf0111489). Reasons for excluding lines from the collection described in FBrf0111489 include presence of more than one P insertion on the mutant chromosome, separation of lethality (or sterility) from the location of the insertion, and loss of lethality (or sterility) from the stock.
