Description

Insertion lines from this collection were assessed for inclusion in the Gene Disruption Project collection.

(Bellen et al., 2004)

A set of mutant stocks derived by insertional mutagenesis using the P-element construct P{lacW}; most lines have a lethal or sterile phenotype. The P{lacW} construct carries a w+mC mini-white visible marker, Ecol\lacZ enhancer trap sequences, and bacterial sequences that allow plasmid rescue (FBrf0049800).

Deficiency complementation analysis is consistent with the lethality of the line being associated with the insertion. However, since the insertion lies within a dicistronic transcript that encodes the CG8026 and CG45085 open reading frames, the lethality can not yet be conclusively mapped to a single open reading frame from these results. Thus l(2)k13412k13412 (representing the lethality of the chromosome) has been kept as a separate allele in FlyBase for now.
