In the adult brain, ScerGAL4203Y drives expression in the snow-drop shaped structures (SD) in the lateral protocerebrum, mushroom body and ascending tract of the ventral nerve cord. In the larval brain, expression is detected in mushroom body.

ScerGAL4203Y does not express in the core of the alpha- or beta-lobe of the adult mushroom body. It shows restricted expression in the alpha-lobe at the mid-pupal stage, but is extensively expressed in late-pupal and adult stages. It is expressed in a restricted pattern in the beta-lobe of the early- and mid-pupal stage, but is extensively expressed in the late pupal and adult stages.

Expression is observed in the embryonic and larval central nervous system; expression is non-specific.
