This degron sequence targets a protein for degradation by the cell-cycle regulated APC[Cdh1] complex, which is active in the late M and G1 phases. If a protein of interest is tagged with this sequence, it is expected to be targeted for degradation from mid-mitosis through the G1 phase (PMID:18267078).
