Description

Insertion of a 5' restriction fragment resulting in 8.0kb of eve promoter sequences fused to lacZ.

8kb fragment of eve promoter sequences, including the enhancer for stripe 2 and 3 eve expression, drives expression of lacZ.

Statement
Reference

In cellularizing embryos, EcollacZ expression is observed, but differs from normal eve expression. Stripes 2, 3, and 7 appear normal, stripe 1 is reduced in expression, and stripes 4, 5, and 6 are undetectable. The missing stripes start to appear during gastrulation. By extended germband stage, EcollacZ expression corresponds to normal 7-stripe eve pattern.
