Reference

sim expression from the late promoter was assayed with a EcollacZ reporter construct. Expression is first detected in the ventral midline at hour 5 of embryogenesis and continues through germ band retraction. The activity of the early and late promoters overlap but expression from the early promoter starts about and hour earlier.
