Description

The 480bp eve minimal stripe 2 enhancer (MSE) (sequence from -1.55kb to -1.1kb upstream of the eve transcription start site) is fused upstream of eve basal promoter sequence from -42bp, the 100bp eve leader sequence and the first 22 codons of eve protein coding sequence, fused to the lacZ coding sequence at codon 5.

Reference

In early embryo, high levels of expression in region corresponding to the second stripe of the wild-type eve expression pattern; very low levels of expression outside the eve stripe 2 region.

In early embryos, expression initially detected in a broad region that spans nearly the entire anterior half of the embryo; after a short time, refined into a stripe. Shown to correspond to the second eve stripe, with some quantitative differences in expression along the dorsal-ventral axis.
