The "RP" fragment of Ubx directsEcollacZ expression in the visceral mesoderm of parasegments 3 and 7. Thisexpression is abolished in mutants of wg and dpp. Ubiquitous wgexpression leads to the expansion of the parasegment 7 domain ofexpression anteriorly into parasegment 6. Parasegment 3 expression isexpanded slightly posteriorly. Ubiquitous dpp expression leads to theexpansion of the domain of expression posteriorly into parasegments 8 and9.
