Description

Contains a 7.5kb bcd genomic fragment (from -2725bp to +4594bp relative to the transcription start site) which contains the entire bcd coding region and 3' UTR, with a 1.3kb fragment of the Ecol\lacZ gene (used as an RNA tag) inserted in the bcd 3' UTR.

A 1.3kb Ecol\lacZ gene fragment is inserted close to the polyadenylation site of wild-type bcd.

Statement
Reference

The bcdT:EcollacZtranscript is localized and accumulates at the anterior cortex of the oocytevery early on during oogenesis. As oogenesis proceeds, the transcript continuesto accumulate and little or no diffusion of signal is observed. In the earlyembryo the transcript remains localized anteriorly, reaching up to 20% egglength.
