Description

A genomic EcoRI fragment from within the regulatory regions of the spalt complex, downstream of salr, is placed upstream of a weak P-element promoter followed by sequence encoding nuclear-localized lacZ.

10.1kb fragment from the intergenic region between salr and salm drives lacZ expression.

Statement
Reference

Expression is detected in a subset of the oenocyte cells in which salm and salr are expressed, and a subset of the PNS cells where endogenous salm is expressed. In the embryonic CNS, expression is only detected in cells in which salm and salr are not normally expressed. In the larval wing disc, endogenous and ectopic expression patterns are detected.
