An XbaI-BamHI fragment encompassing the AdhF gene, which has been modified to contain a 165bp deletion in the second exon, which removes sequences encoding amino acids 84-138. The deletion results in an inactive enzyme.

Description

Construct: Contains the Dleb\Adh gene including 6431bp of 5' flanking sequence (relative to the distal transcription start site). This 5' flanking sequence includes a 4.5kb minisatellite sequence composed of a tandemly repeated dodecanucleotide sequence. The repetitive DNA is divided into two arrays, which are inverted with respect to each other.
