ScerGAL4GMR29A12 drives mosaic expression in astrocyte-like glial cells in the adult ventral nervous system.

ScerGAL4GMR29A12 drives expression in epithelial glial cells covering the whole depth of the lamina neuropil. Labeling is also seen in a subset of astrocyte-like neuropil glia at the posterior edge of the distal medulla surface which extend to medulla layer M7. In the proximal medulla immediately distal to the inner chiasm giant glia expression is seen in chandelier-type glia which extends astrocyte-like branches to an area above medulla layer M10 and beneath M7. Astrocyte-like glia was also detected in the lobula, lobula plate and serpentine layer.
