UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of two hairpin loops that produce miRNAs that selectively target the neuronal isoform of ple (two 22mers bridging the 2nd and 3rd coding exons of the neural transcript - 5'-CGCAGCAAGGCAAATGATTACG-3' and 5'-GGCAAATGATTACGGTCTCACC-3' - were used to create the two hairpin loops).
