Imprecise excision of P{EP}EP2141, removing most of the upstream region of Liprin-α.
Liprin-α1J-0/Liprin-αR117 larvae have fewer boutons (both type Ib and type Is) at the muscle 6/7 neuromuscular junction than wild type. The branch complexity of the terminal arbor is also decreased compared to wild type. Liprin-α1J-0/Liprin-αR117 larval neuromuscular junctions frequently lack small nascent boutons ("buds") surrounding a large end bouton (which are seen in wild-type animals). Excitatory junctional potentials (EJPs) are reduced 36% in Liprin-αF3ex15/Liprin-αR117 larvae compared to controls. The mean amplitude and the frequency of unitary mRJPs is normal. The resting potential of the muscle is normal. The quantal content of evoked release is reduced by over 50%.
Liprin-α1J-0/Liprin-αR117 has bouton phenotype, non-suppressible by LarUAS.cKa/Scer\GAL4elav.PLu
Liprin-α1J-0/Liprin-αR117 is a suppressor of bouton | increased number phenotype of LarUAS.cKa, Scer\GAL4elav.PLu
Liprin-α1J-0/Liprin-αR117 larvae expressing LarScer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu show a reduction in bouton number at the muscle 6/7 neuromuscular junction equivalent to that seen in Liprin-α1J-0/Liprin-αR117 single mutants.
