Statement
Reference
Among male progeny of rescue crosses that carry both the Adar1F4 mutation and the Adar3.4.Scer\UAS construct, the number of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI driver flies obtained, expressed as a percentage of the number of control flies lacking a GAL4 driver, is 20%.

Comments
Ubiquitous expression of Adar[3.4.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[βtub.PU] completely rescues the neuromuscular junction phenotype observed in Adar[5G1] larvae with respect to synaptic bouton number and branching.
Expression of Adar[3.4.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Cha.7.4] rescues the locomotor defects seen in Adar[5G1] and in Adar[1F4] adults. Expression of Adar[3.4.Scer\UAS] under the control of Scer\GAL4[Cha.7.4] significantly rescues the neurodegeneration phenotype seen in the mushroom body calyces and retina of 30 day old Adar[5G1] adults.
Expression of Adar3.4.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI, in a Adar1F4 background partially rescues the Adar1F4 mutant phenotype.
