hide Detailed Description
Statement
Reference
76% of Hsp83[08445]/Hsp83[j5C2] flies show a loss of locomotor behavioral rhythms under free-running conditions (after entrainment in light-dark cycles). Hsp83[08445]/Hsp83[j5C2] flies show a reduced fraction of flies with rhythmic locomotor activity in light-dark cycles (47% rhythmic) compared to control flies (88%-95% rhythmic). Hsp83[08445]/Hsp83[j5C2] mutants show highly variable locomotor activity patterns, including fully rhythmic, arrhythmic, and complex behavioral profiles, in contrast to wild-type flies, which show little variation among individuals.
The mutant abdominal segmentation phenotype seen in females carrying nosΔBX in a nosBN/nosBN background is not affected if the females also carry one copy of Hsp83j5C2.
