    Survival to adulthood is reduced in Df(2L)mir-275-305KO/Df(2L)BSC189 mutants and the life span of adult flies is short compared with controls. They also show an extra bristle phenotype.

    The adult midgut of Df(2L)mir-275-305KO/Df(2L)BSC189 mutants show an increase in intestinal stem cell and enteroblast populations as a result of an increased ISC proliferation rate. The proportion of differentiated entero-endocrine cells is increased.
