Detailed Description

Generation of the dorsal tracheal trunk is completely abolished in embryos mutant for btldev1.

btldev1/+ third instar larvae have a similar number of boutons per muscle at the neuromuscular junction, compared to controls.

The dominant Pc suppression and recessive lethality of btldev1 and btldev2 chromosomes result from different lesions as deficiencies that uncover the lethality of btl alleles can exhibit a range of Pc phenotypes: enhancement, suppression or no effect on Pc phenotype.

btldev1/+ significantly enhances (further reduces) the decreased number of boutons per muscle seen in the neuromuscular junction of third instar Scer\GAL4how-24B>SmndsRNA.C.Scer\UAS.WIZ larvae.

btldev1/+ leads to a significant reduction in the penetrance of Scer\GAL4btl.PS VhldsRNA.Scer\UAS tracheal phenotypes.

A btldev1 heterozygous background dominantly suppresses the tracheal phenotypes found in ago1/ago3 mutants.

brm2 shows little if any interaction in double heterozygous combination with btldev1; less than 3% of flies have held-out wings.

Mutation changes the level of w expression in ph-plac+3 flies; eye colour is lighter.

Suppresses the extra sex comb phenotype of Pc4, Ts(YLt;2Lt)L124. Causes between 50% and 100% suppression of the Pc4/+ extra sex combs phenotype.
