    Homozygous dsx11 clones induce differentiated normal male adult genital structures in the developing male genital primordium of XY ; dsx11/+ male genital discs when induced after 24 hours of development. However, clones induced between 0 and 24 hours of development do not differentiate normally and give rise to incomplete male genital structures.

    X/Y; dsx1/dsx1 and X/Y; dsx1/dsx11germ cells remain small and do not display a typical male phenotype.

    Male-specific dsx mutation. dsx11 in combination with dsx22 produces fertile male and female flies.
