Detailed Description

Bre101640 mutant clones exhibit notches in the wing margin, aberrant spacing of wing margin bristles, wing blistering and vein defects, fusions of leg segments, and loss of notal bristles and rough eyes.

Bre101640 mutant clones are considerably smaller than their matched wild-type twin clones.

Ubiquitous expression of Bre1Scer\UAS.fl, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4arm.PS rescues the lethality of Bre101640 mutant embryos and sustains development to give essentially normal adult flies (with a few minor defects including slightly reduced bristles).

Bre1ΔRING.Scer\UAS/Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 phenotypes of upward-curved wings, tiny vein deltas, and a significant decrease in wing size, in both males and females are more severe in a Bre101640 heterozygous background.

Vein defects in Bre1Scer\UAS.fl/Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 male wings are rescued to an almost wild-type phenotype in Bre101640 heterozygotes.
